New York City: Woman Found Dead in Mother’s Apartment
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a woman named Nadia Vitel, aged 52, was discovered deceased in her late mother’s apartment in New York City’s Kips Bay neighborhood. The discovery was made on March 14, following a wellness check.
The New York City Chief Medical Examiner’s Office has determined that Vitel’s cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head. This revelation has left the community in shock and mourning.
Authorities revealed that two teenagers, Halley Tejada, aged 19, and an unnamed 16-year-old, were unlawfully occupying the apartment where Vitel’s body was found. Surveillance footage captured Vitel’s movements in the building, as well as the teenagers entering and leaving the premises.
Tragically, it is believed that Tejada and the 16-year-old not only occupied the apartment illegally but also stole Vitel’s car before fleeing to Pennsylvania. The U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended the teenagers in York, Pennsylvania, bringing them into custody.
