Federal Investigators Seize Phones in Raid on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Properties
Federal investigators have taken action against Sean “Diddy” Combs, seizing his phones during a raid on his properties. The raid took place at a lavish multi-million dollar home owned by the music mogul in the Holmby Hills neighborhood of West LA on Monday afternoon.
The Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) executed search warrants not only at Combs’ LA mansion but also at one of his properties in Miami. This action comes amid a broader investigation that may be linked to possible sex trafficking.
In connection with this investigation, the Southern District of New York has interviewed individuals regarding allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and the distribution of illegal substances and firearms involving Combs. Furthermore, it has been disclosed that additional interviews are scheduled.
Combs, who was in the Miami area during the raids, has faced mounting public scrutiny following accusations made by his former partner, Cassie. Cassie accused Combs of physical and sexual abuse, leading to a settlement between the two in November.
Since Cassie’s lawsuit, three more women have come forward with similar allegations against Combs. However, Combs has vehemently denied all accusations of sexual assault.
This isn’t the first time Combs has faced legal trouble. He has a history of legal issues, including a guilty plea for assaulting a record executive in 1999 and accusations of criminal possession of a weapon in the same year.
In response to these recent developments, Combs has stepped down from his position as chairman of media network Revolt, and plans for a reality series about his family on Hulu have been shelved.
These events underscore the ongoing reckoning within the entertainment industry regarding allegations of sexual misconduct. The #MeToo movement has brought such issues to the forefront, leading to legal action against prominent figures like singer and producer R. Kelly.
While Combs continues to deny the allegations against him, the investigation by federal authorities signals a serious legal challenge ahead for the music mogul.
